Pastor Andrew G. Jensen

Dear Nebraska Synod Leaders:

I regret to inform you of the death of our partner in ministry, Pastor Andrew G. Jensen. He was born in Portland, Maine, on August 29, 1938 and died on March 2, 2007 in Lincoln, Nebraska. Pastor Jensen is survived by his wife, Mary, and sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel and Sheri, Joel and Julie, and son Nathan, and four grandchildren: Brikken, Merlyn, Saffron and Edison.

A service of celebration of resurrection will be held for Pastor Jensen on Tuesday, March 6, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, 1200 South 40th St., Lincoln.

Pastor Jensen graduated in 1960 with a BA from Dana College, Blair, Nebraska and in 1964 with an M.Div. from Wartburg Theological Seminary, Dubuque, Iowa.

Pastor Jensen was ordained August 23, 1964 and was called to serve as Pastor at Belfield, Daglum and Medora Lutheran Churches in Belfield, North Dakota until 1966. His second call was as Associate Pastor at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Canby, Minnesota until 1970, when he became Associate Pastor of Christ the King Lutheran Church, in Mankato, Minnesota. In 1974, Pastor Jensen became Associate Pastor of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Burnsville, Minnesota. Pastor Jensen moved to California in 1980, and began serving as Pastor at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in North Hollywood. From 1992 until 2000, Pastor Jensen served in the Development Department of California Lutheran Homes and Lutheran Social Services of California, and was interim pastor at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, San Fernando, California from 1995 until 1999. Pastor Jensen retired in 2002, and moved to Lincoln, Nebraska.

Pastor Elton R. Walth

Dear Nebraska Synod Leaders:

I regret to inform you of the death of our partner in ministry, Pastor Elton R. Walth. He was born in Hosmer, South Dakota on February 17, 1926 and died on December 11, 2006 in Grand Island, Nebraska. Pastor Walth is survived by his wife, Vi, and three children, (Susan) Kaira Adam, Janet & husband Daryl Anderson, and Mark & wife Lorane Walth, and five grandchildren.

A service of celebration of resurrection will be held for Pastor Walth on Saturday, December 16 at 10:30 a.m at St. Pauls Lutheran Church, 1515 S. Harrison St., Grand Island. Ministry partners are invited to vest and process at the beginning of the service.

Pastor Walth graduated in 1949 with a BS from Northern State College, Aberdeen, South Dakota and in 1952 with a BD from Wartburg Theological Seminary, Dubuque, Iowa.

He was ordained June 15, 1952 and was called to serve as Pastor at St. John Lutheran Church & St. Paul Lutheran Church in Donnelly, Minnesota. His second call was as Pastor at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Swan Lake Twp., Morris, Minnesota, beginning in September of 1955. In August of 1956, Pastor Walth began serving as Pastor at St. John Lutheran Church in Ramona, South Dakota until December of 1963, when he became pastor of Montclair Lutheran Church, Denver, Colorado. In November 1967, Pastor Walth moved to St. Paul, Nebraska and was pastor of St. Mark Lutheran Church until 1984, when he moved to Geneva. He was pastor of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church until July, 1991, when he retired.
