Justice

The words from the parable ring in our ears: “When did we see you hungry or thirsty, naked or ill or imprisoned, Lord?” For that reason, we work together within the Nebraska Synod to promote God’s justice for all people. (see Matthew 25:31-46, NRSV)

Our work takes a variety of shapes and touches people in all walks of life.

  • Rural Response Hotline 800.464.0258
The Nebraska Rural Response Hotline is one of the primary services provided by the Farm and Rural Response Network and Interchurch Ministries of Nebraska. When a farmer, rancher or rural resident calls the Hotline number, a carefully trained person will answer. That person will respond directly to callers, spend time finding out issues and needs, provide helpful information, and refer to others as needed–attorneys, financial counselors, clergy, other farmers and mediation. In addition, the answerer will have an ear for stress, depression, and other emotional factors which could affect the decision-making abilities of the caller, and will assist the caller with appropriate referrals.
