Pastor Exchanges
The Nebraska Synod and Northern Diocese regularly host pastor exchanges. The next exchange is scheduled for 2009. These six-week exchanges allow participants (pastors and congregations) a tremendous opportunity to learn about each other’s culture and ministry. Moreover, the exchanges provide congregations a chance receive the gifts of someone who comes from another culture.
Participants have included:
- 2006: Pastor Nate Houfek and Bethel Lutheran Church of Omaha with Pastor Michael Macha and Moshi Town Lutheran Parish.
- 2006: Pastor Dwayne Hunzeker and First English Lutheran Church with Pastor Rachel Axwesso and Lyamungu Kati Lutheran Parish.
- 2005: Pastor Terry Nielsen and Immanuel Lutheran Church of Bellevue with Pastor James Nkya and Karanga Lutheran Parish.
- 2003: Pastor Don Wright and Lord of Love Lutheran Church of Omaha with Pastor Elisante Maimu and TPC Parish.
- 2003: Pastor Jon Tallman and Peace Lutheran Church of Plymouth with Pr Rishiankira Munisi and Nkweseko Lutheran Parish.
- 1999: Pastor David deFreese and First Lutheran Church of Kearney with Pastor Elirehema Silaa and Moshi Town Lutheran Parish
- 1999: Pastor Martin Russell and Our Savior Lutheran Church of Wayne with Pastor Samweli Kiwelu and Kotela Lutheran Parish.
